NORA is establishing a research school and a startup initiative

Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium — (NORA), consisting of nine universities and research institutes, present yesterday a joint strategy for the collaboration and how to become a leader in artificial intelligence in Norway.

Among other things, a research school, which will be offer as an own course and seminars and will ensure researchers access to themes who is not offered at their own university.

- A Doctoral Research Fellow at Norges miljø-og biovitenskapelige universitet (NMBU) who needs a specific machine learning course that does not exist at NMBU, should be able to take the course if it is offered elsewhere. In addition, we are looking at what we do not already have in Norway today and will prepare to create courses and topics in areas not already covered, says Klas Pettersen, CEO at NORA

In addition, Nora establishes "Nora Startup", as part of a desire and need for more innovation. Together with companies and the existing start-up environment in Norway, they will facilitate ideas to become companies.

- When it comes to innovation and artificial intelligence, it is important that scientists don’t get into their university silos, says Klas Pettersen in this article.
