Free AI course for everyone
As part of the government's comprehensive AI strategy from January this year, a free artificial intelligence course is being launched on for all the country's residents. In Norway, more than 50 companies - such as Equinor, DNB, DNV-GL, Sintef, NorgesGruppen, Abelia, the National Automobile Library, the Tax Administration and Schibsted, have already registered. Over 400 secondary schools have also been invited to use the course as part of teaching.
Artificial intelligence is used in the transport sector, in logistics and retail trade, in the banking sector, modern food production, Norwegian health care, the police, the press and the public sector. Chairman of the board Risto Siilasma in Nokia stated, "Artificial intelligence will affect us as much as electricity has done."
- Artificial intelligence is being used in all sectors, this is something we must understand, rather than fear. Now we all have a chance, "says Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at NTNU, Ingrid Schjølberg.
The course is divided into six parts. Machine learning and neural networks are the main topics for two of these parts. The participants are expected to spend between 30 and 60 hours completing the course. It is recommended that the entire course is taken within six weeks, which includes submitting answers to assignments. 90 percent of the tasks must be done, and 50 percent must be answered correctly. Only basic knowledge of mathematics is required to participate. Participants will receive a certificate to post on their LinkedIn profile.
