Safer Births through Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence

A NORA Webinar: Safer Births through Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence

Worldwide more than 2 million newborns die during birth or the first day of life every year. In addition a number of children live with long term damage due to birth asphyxia. Biomedical data analysis lab, BMDLab, at University of Stavanger (UiS) is working in a cross-disiplinary network with the overall goal of safer births and increased newborn survival. In this presentation Professor Kjersti Engan (UiS) will present past and ongoing research using signal processing, automated analysis and artificial intelligence on sensor signals and video data collected from labour to resuscitation at partner hospitals in Tanzania and Nepal.
